Was there a rule once, Real Estate taxes were higher by the number of closets you had in your house?
Banker asked:
I’m told that’s why there are antique wardrobes; real estate taxes were higher if you had closets in your house so the houses were built without closets and the people used furniture to store clothes instead of closets, the food pantry didn’t have a door so it couldn’t be called a closet.
Politicians pass some unusual things into law but have you ever heard of this?

used in services and I want to give all my money to my descendants so they will never have to work. Also I find it ironic that if libs have their way and let gays marry the only people that will have to pay the death tax are parents passing their money to their children unless you allow them to marry also.
married people don’t have to pay the estate tax that would mean you could give all of your money to you *** spouse tax free but not your own child

Liberals want to raise the minimum wage from $5.15 to $6.75 (over 3 years). The 1st raise in a decade. This would effect roughly about 5.8% of the workforce. Mostly women. A raise would still keep most of them below the poverty level.

The conservatives want to make this law contingent on whether they can make the Estate Tax permanent. The Estate Tax will exempt $5 million of an individual’s estate ($10 million per couple) from any taxes at all. This would effect about 7,500 of the wealthiest families in America. Roughly 6%.
Some theorize the minimum raise hike will hurt the economy. I think millionaires already have enough loopholes & tax shelters to prevent them from paying their fair share of taxes now. Many of them pay no taxes at all, or very little. It has passed in the House. It now goes to the Senate. What do you think and why?
